New jobs are new

Day two of the new job has come and gone. Its been pretty good besides how deathly slow it is. Yesterday I did two facials and three brow waxes which would of been rad if all of them but one wax wasnt for fellow employees. Two of them did tip me pretty good so that was really rad. Today though I made zero money and sat there the entire day. I am hoping this doesnt keep up or I am going to have to find another job. Yes I know I have to give it time blah blah.
I have quite a few big bills coming up for my teeth and car which is freaking me out. I have no clue how I am going to pay for it all. OH WELL what happens happens right?!
Tomorrow is Saturday which means work is only from 8am to 3pm. HOORAY!! After that I get 4 days off in which I have quite a few things I need to get caught up on already. The biggest thing is I am getting my teeth fixed on the left side of my mouth on Monday so Im sure I will be in a lot of pain. I havent gone to the dentist in years which apparently is more important then I had thought since I have 7 freaking cavities. And I do take care of my teeth I PROMISE!!!! Do fillings hurt you guys?

New Horizons

Tomorrow I start my new job. I am so freaking out right now. I know it will prolly go really well but its my first time to be the lone esthetician and what happens if I get stuck and Im not sure the answer to something?! This opportunity will be a lot better then Trace Retreat as not only will I have no competition but I have a staff full of hair dressers that will promote me, we will be doing more photoshoots, styling people ANDDD most important I will be getting to do makeup! I can not wait for that as its more of what I want to do. Oh OH and also I only work 3 days a week at first until my clients build up.
Its pretty exciting times right now. As stoked as I am to start tomorrow I will miss not working. I havent been  in work since the day after Harry Potter came out and can I just say it has been a dream. I havent had real time off since before I started esthetics school last April so it was much deserved.
I did a ton of stuff the past two weeks to keep me busy, it has encouraged me even more to figure out something to work towards that will remove me from working away from home.

I had a post planned on some more foodie things but my phones not letting me send my pictures to my computer at the moment so Ill try to post those tomorrow when I get off work and I will let you know how my day went.

E courses

Hello quick little post/ question....

Has anyone an e-course ever? I have been looking at A Beautiful Mess and their DIY Dress Up class. It looks like fun and a lot of good information to learn. I really wanna learn how to make clothes more so I thought it would be a good idea. Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone wanna take a class with me? It could be neat!!

Also I entered the AE Best shot contest for Coolest Hipster I kinda did it to be funny since everyone loves to make fun of hipsters but also cause to win would be really rad! If you wouldn't mind voting for me I would be very appreciative and would promote you as well.
Let me know if you vote, Ill love you forever!!!

Fricase de Pollo

Another day another recipe....or something along those lines. Today I decided to make something random that I hadn't ever cooked before so I went to the recipe book, closed my eyes and opened a page. Fricase de Pollo is what I saw first so off to the grocery me and my mom went to collect foods.

Here is what you will need:

4 boneless chicken breasts
1 large tomato
2 garlic cloves
2 bay leaves
1 tps dried oregano
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup white wine
8 oz can tomato sauce
1 medium onion
12 pitted green olives
1 tbsp capers
1 1/2 tsp olive oil
1 bell pepper
2 oz jar pimentos

Now firstly you need to chop up your tomato, garlic, onion, pepper and olives. I used a red pepper and I also used black olives as the green are too salty for me. After you do that put all the ingredients except the pimentos in a dutch oven...or a big pot like I did. Over medium heat, bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook until the chicken is cooked through. Drop the pimentos in and stir it all up. I made basmati rice as well to serve it with. Oh, I also put in a jar of tomato paste to thicken the sauce, I think it adds a little extra something.

Its rather pretty now isnt it?

Hogwarts will Always be Here for You

This sucks for me to write, I feel a bit weepy already from watching some of the final interviews before getting around to blogger. You may think I am silly but Harry Potter has been a massive part of my life since the very first book came out. I can not even tell how many memories I have surrounding the books/movies.
I remember when either the 4th or 5th book came out and I was like MOM what will I do when there is no more books and what about when the movies have all been made?! (also what i did for LOTR but thats another story) And she calmly said, Kelley by the time that comes about you will be older and over all this, you wont care so much.
The thing is though, she was wrong. It hurts very much, I feel like I lost my best friends. My stomach ached for days before the premiere and I almost didnt want to go just because I knew when it was over there would never be another one. Call me dramatic but I never really saw an end to HP, I definitely didnt ever think of a time when there would no longer be more. It SUCKS!!
We were going to dress up as Daddy Malfoy and Bellatrix but my outfit was too tight for my arms and was cutting off the circulation. We went to the Coolsprings movie theatre, tons of people were dressed up in really rad costumes. They had a two part costume with one kid being Quirrel and another attached to him walking backwards as Voldy also they had kids who dressed up as mandrakes which was HILARIOUS!! We got there almost 2 hrs early so during the wait...in between my own freaking out...kids kept coming in to do duals. It was pretty awesome, I just wanted to live in that moment for ever.
I cried for a good bit of the movie, not because of what was going on really, mostly it was just sadness that this was the last time. Well and there are some really sad parts in the movie too of course. This is coming from the girl who bawled when Hedwig and Dolby died last movie. These characters feel like my family and yes it hurts my heart when they died.
After the movie was over I felt a bit panicy like my childhood was over and I needed to study because the next day something huge was going to happen and I needed to be ready for it. Its bizarre how it made me feel. Does anyone else feel this connected? Were any of you, like me, 11 or 12 when the books came out so you felt like you were growing up with them too?
I never knew I would be so impacted by books but I have been. Im trying to not feel so completely lost...please someone else feel this way or else I am just gonna feel like a weirdo.

Also seeing all these sick HP tattoos is really making me want to finally get the several I have been wanting. Must do it soon!! Share your memories with me??
If this video doesnt make you cry then you arent a fan. BOOOOOO!!

Zucchini Bread

Yesterday I made delicious zucchini bread because I am a cooking fiend. Hopefully yall dont get fed up with all my cooking adventures.
I got this recipe from the ever perfect Paula Dean, Id show you a picture of my cookbook but its really worn and has dripped food all over it haha. This is one of my favorite recipes. Even if you say you can not cook I promise you will be able to make this really easily. Also you can substitute the Zucchini for Pumpkin if you prefer it and still use the same recipe. This makes 2 loaves if you use the small pans, I dont think it really matters too much what you bake it in.

You will need:

Dry Ingredients
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp  ground cinnamon
3 cups sugar

Wet Ingredients
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs (beaten)
2/3 cups water
2 cups Zucchini
1 tsp lemon juice
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Now with the zucchini I used 3 large ones and it ended up making a little over 4 cups which is why I made so many loaves and the recipe calls for grated zucchini which is hard to do so I just throw it in the food processor. In baking it seems like you can just mess with stuff, you dont really have to be exact. Oh and my mom takes the skin off when she makes it. I dont which makes it really green so do whatever you want.

Anyways put the oven on 350 degrees. First mix all the dry ingredients together then mix the wet ones separately. After you do this fold the wet into the dry until its mixed really well. Then all that's left is to put them into the pans and cook for an hour. Make sure and stick a tooth pick into them to make sure they are done all the way through. Dont worry as you can see it makes a mess but that is part of the fun.

All is well

I have been having the worst time being very negative for a while now. Its made me a really horrible angry little person. If you could look back at the me from a few years ago you would see a different person all together. I am over it completely.
I am going to try my hardest, starting today, to start turning negative situations into good ones. No more being frustrated over things I can't change, that is just added worry for no reason. No more procrastinating. No more being down in the dumps. No more pity parties.
If I can fix something in my life I need to either do it, start working towards fixing it, or let it go instead of bottling it in and staying angry.

I have some really exciting things that I am hoping will be good changes for me. I am working my butt off to make things happen for me. I am learning new things everyday. Trying to become more open to change, to people, to life in general. I have crazy anxiety half of the time and I know this holds me back from so much. I have a pretty serious temper and I need to learn to let stuff roll off my back and move on.

I was lurking Tumblr the other day and saw a post from this lady  who wrote when her boyfriend has bad days that he wakes up every  morning and writes down all the good stuff that happened the day before. I loved that idea. Its so perfect in every way. I am not a naturally positive person and I will admit that. Ive let that keep me from being happy for years now. I always get so bogged down by every little thing that there were a few months when I literally wanted to just lay in bed and cry all the time and frequently would. It took a lot for me to get mostly past that but I still have days when its all I can think about it.

I am challenging myself to kick my own butt into gear this time. Every day Im going to write happy things, try to roll anger off my back and just be a generally more positive person. Wish me luck?!
Do any of you have problems with staying positive? Any tips to help me?

Potato Candy

The other day we made baked potatoes and as usual my brother didnt eat his so I decided to make Potato Candy so yall could learn some good Southern delights. Blah Blah about how you dont believe itll taste good or it sounds gross just hush your mouths and try it.

I also photographed it all with my Evos camera so Im sure the quality will be lacking for those photo snobs out there. No apologies.

Its the most simple thing you can make

1 half of a baked potato (unless you need to make a whole lot)
about 2 boxes of powdered sugar
gnarly arm muscles
peanut butter
wax paper
patience

Get the potato and  mash it up really good so its almost liquid, if there are lumps you might want to pull them out cause they dont taste really good. Then just start slowly pouring powdered sugar in until you get a dough texture. I cant give you an exact measurement because it seems to change every time you make it. Also it will blow your mind how much powdered sugar it takes. Its crazy really.

When you have the correct consistency, put some more powdered sugar on the wax paper and pour out the mixture.

Get a rolling pin, cover that in more powdered sugar (hey I never said this was low cal) and start rolling out. This is where the patience comes in, it gets really sticky and annoying and kinda hard to do but persevere.  Also those hands are my dads hands and what hes pouring out is the second round in which my arms were too tired to roll out so I manned the camera.

Once you have it rolled out all nice and pretty apply liberal amounts of Peanut Butter, however much you want but prolly not too much.

Roll it up like so, being careful not to rip the dough, its really easy to do. Also the patience is needed here.

When its all done it should look something like this. Mine are usually alot thinner but this one ended up looking like a bureet. I dont care too much about how it looks as it all tastes the same in the end right?!
I know maybe it sounds gross but yall have to try this at least once! Its surprising how good it is.

California Photo Dump

Me and my dad are sitting here watching the most recent Indiana Jones, I know now why I never watched that one in the first place. It is terrible!! Sorry Indy, you know I love you but not this time.
Yall prolly dont remember but a few months ago I went to meet my parents in Los Angelos California. I had a hard time getting all the pictures off of my camera but today it magically worked which was nice because I didnt know what I was going to write about today. I actually have a lot more pictures on my dads camera but I didnt really want to mess with getting them off of his as well.
Anyways these start out with pictures I took out of the plane, I do this every time I fly. It completely fascinates me  and also keeps me entertained. I slept most of the time as I went alone so I had no one to keep me awake. Why is the world separated all into squares?

This tree looked like skin was wrapped over it so me and dad took like a million pictures of these, I was nice and only showed yall one as I didnt think maybe yall would be amazed as we were. This was outside of a bagel shop in Huntington Beach.

Driving down to the San Diego zoo for my first time there ever!! It rained the whole way there of course.

Peacocks in a tree...I didnt know they could get up there. Tons of people were circling around taking pics so I joined in.

\

Various animals I know all of yall have seen before but I kinda like the ones I took. We were there the entire day and it ended up being really warm and perfect! I was glad we decided to soldier on and stay regardless of the rain.

Me and my Pops, we like to make silly faces.

I took millions of pictures of these guys, its like they knew that everyone was there to see them so they were up to all kinds of antics. They were eating, running around, playing in the water, and wrestling. It was awesome!!

This tiger was hiding from view so they threw a massive bone right by the glass so he cuddled up with his bone and starting chowing down. I was wedged between two walls to get any pictures. People were mighty vicious to get a peek.

The orangutans were really neat too, they played with everyone through the glass. One little girl was making faces at them so they came over and started making the same ones right back at her. I prolly took too many pictures of them also.

Laguna Beach is my favorite beach Ive been to so far. I would like to live here one day I think.

I was told over and over again to go to In-N-Out burger and I didnt get a chance to go when I was here last so mom and dad made sure I got to go this time. I was not disappointed at all. Why dont we have one of these in Nashville?

Snow in March in California, I didnt know this kind of stuff happened. There actually was a blizzard which we thankfully got passed before it got too bad. The next morning while watching the news we saw the roads were shut down and there had been mudslides.

SLO aka San Luis Obispo maybe one of the most beautiful places on earth.  If you havent been here seriously go like now time! The hills are magnificent and quite overwhelming. I want to go back ASAP!

All in all this trip was balling and I have a huge love for the west coast. Next time I go back I want to meet Bridget Blonde , hangout with Josh again, and actually go during good weather months. I want to see Santa Monica during the day and have way more beach time. Hopefully Ill be back sometime this year!!
