St Pattys Day

I am so random at picking up on this blog. I thought I might pop back on and write a little.
I have been back in school now, going on my second semester. I was studying for Vet Tech but I am not sure if I will continue on with that in my next semester. I love animals but do I really want to be underpaid to clean up after them the rest of my life? Do any of yall know Vets/vet techs and can give some advice?
I also have been interning at Waldens Puddle which is a wild life animal rehab center here in Joelton Tn. It is definitely ALOT more work then I originally thought it would be. The staff there are saints and deserve more then they get for real.

There are a few pictures of some of the animals I cared for while working. It was a rad experience that is for sure but I learned I def. do not want to work at a place like that when I graduate. Its good work and someone has to do it but I like to play with animals and you cant really do that with the wild ones haha. Prolly a stupid reason but I guess that's part of why they make us do internships so we can see if we really want to do this or not. I did love getting to feed the baby flying squirrels. They are so soft, kinda like sugar gliders.

OOOh also I got accepted to study abroad this summer, so this June I will be heading to Scotland for a month. Words can not describe how excited I am to finally be going to see where my family is from. I can not wait! I am gonna try haggis and learn to speak Gaelic and see castles and and and I dont even know what else but its gonna rule.

Other then that life has been pretty quiet. Just studying a lot and hanging out with my dog. I am ready for summer break and maybe will be able to have a life again. This semester has really been kicking my butt. The weather has been so nice all I want to do is ride my bike and hangout outside all day long.

Life

I really suck at bloggin dont i??? I just cant find the time. I miss it though I do. I sometimes realize I dont want to share my life with the world and have to take little or large breaks.
Life has changed so much since the summer. I need to sum it all some time for the few people that are still hanging on and following me.

How have all yall been???

Random road trips

I decided out of the blue last Sunday night that I needed to visit my sister in Savannah Georgia. I hopped on a Megabus and 4 hours later I was in Atlanta where my sister was coming to pick me up.  Have y'all ever heard of Megabus? I just found out about it not too long ago. It's amazing and so so cheap!!  I'll be posting a more thorough blog later on about my trip. I just got home yesterday and I am already wanting to plan my next trip.

Stitch Fix part 2

This is my second Stitch Fix order and I will say I wasn't quite as happy with it as my first order. I actually didn't even request this box, they are still in Beta phase so every once in a while they do make mistakes. I love their customer service, they do everything they can to make sure you are 100% happy with them.
I didn't love the skirt, tried it on but with Tennessee 100 + weather a long skirt isn't something I will ever wear. The vest I really liked but the price was about 60$ and that's just too much for me to spend when I'm sure I can find something similar at another shop. The scarf I also liked but it was too expensive for my taste, the same with the dress. It looked amazing but it was a tad tight and definitely too expensive. Lastly I liked the shirt they included until I tried it on and it looked horrible on my body type. Don't you hate when that happens, you love something until you try it on.
Overall this could of been a better box but they are still learning what I like so I cant be mad at them. I cant wait to get my next fix.

Leiper's Fork

While my sister and her husband were visiting, another place we went exploring was Leipers Fork. Its a quaint little town outside of Franklin and one of my favorite places to visit. To get there you have a really nice rural drive on the Natchez Trace, which me and my dad like to escape to whenever possible.
The town is pretty small but is filled with really cute shops, an amazing antique store and a cute little local grocery. I have been gardening a lot lately and I found an amazing area that I want to replicate for my house. You can see what it looks like in the last picture.
If you ever get a chance go see this place, go on a drive on the Natchez Trace and enjoy some simple family time. Oh and begin your day eating some good old southern cuisine at the Loveless Cafe which used to be a hotel and is now a restaurant, shops and an entertainment barn.

Leipers Fork got its name from people who jumped off this bridge. I don't think Id want to be one of the people who own the land under this.

This is from a rare/old bookstore in Leipers Fork. It has a whole room of historical memorabilia.

This magical machine is called a shaving machine which lead my family into laughing hysterically for a while until they explained that its actually for shaving records...not body parts.

I just gotta get some kinda weirdness in each post.

These painting are from an art gallery we went to. I loved this cute sheep series. If I ever have a child Ill have something like this in the nursery.

Centennial Park

For those of yall not living in Nashville...which I think is pretty much everyone, Centennial Park is a real happening place. During the summer they have a lot of activities that I like to go to but I never knew that they had a museum inside the main building until about a month ago. These pictures are kinda old now but since I am trying to start this up again I figured Id share them. My brother graduated high school in May so my sister and her husband came up from Georgia to attend his graduation. While they were here we played tourists and went all around Nashville seeing the sights. Apparently back in the day Centennial was created for the Worlds Fair that they had in multiple cities, it wasnt meant to be permanent and most of the buildings were actually torn down at the end of the fair. The picture below is what is used to look like, the one underneath that is what its like now.
The downstairs is all artifacts and information, while the upstairs is home to a 42 foot replica of Athena. Its pretty unreal looking at her. I couldn't imagine the effort it took to get her created. The last two pictures are of my mom, dad and sister standing beside these massive 7 ton doors that close the Parthenon off from the crowds.
It was a pretty rad thing to get to explore and I recommend anyone visiting to come check it out!!

Stitchfix Part 1

Have yall gotten into Stitch Fix yet? Im sure most of yall have heard of it by now but if not here is the gist.
You go to Stichfix.com, use my link   and you will get in invite to this really rad site. Once in you have all these options on what kind of clothes you like to wear, size, style etc...then for a small charge of 20$ they send you a box of clothes for you to try on. You can keep what you like and send back what you don't, and you don't even have to worry about shipping because they include a return bag in your box. I have ordered two boxes so far and loved both of them. Unfortunately I completely forgot to keep my invoice so I could list exactly what I got and the prices but oh well hindsight is 20/20. Here is what I received from my first box:

I ended up only keeping the first two items. They fit super well and the prices weren't too bad. The dress was beautiful and really well made but it was a bit too tight, the striped shirt was a little too short in the front and I don't like to show off my tummy and I didn't keep the bracelet because I don't really wear them and it was a bit expensive. Overall I really like the concept of Stitch Fix and I will continue to use it.

Make sure and tell me if yall order a Fix so I can see what you got!!
